Chinese New Year @ Good Luck Dim Sum and Alex’s Bakery

How to Have a Great Chinese New Year Bay Area Brunch:

1) Pray to the Inner Richmond Parking Gods.

3) While waiting in the long line, fill out the pink paper with your dim sum order.

Make sure the order includes plenty of Har Gow (shrimp dumplings), chive and shrimp dumplings, Shumai (pork dumplings), crispy Taro Dumplings, and Lo Mai Gai (sticky rice with meats wrapped in lotus leaves).

Try not to roll your eyes at the older Chinese folks that cut the line and the tourists who talk about their hankering for egg rolls.

4) Marvel at the amount of food you get for less than $10.

5) Walk down the street to ALEX BAKERY.

6) Buy some baked goodies like the delicious Cha Siu Bao (Baked BBQ Pork Bun), curry flavored Beef Bun, and the prettiest Hot Dog and Chive bun you have ever seen.

7) Don’t forget to pick up some mini moon cakes (red bean and white bean) and warm flaky Dan Tat (egg custards) fresh out of the oven.

8 ) Marvel at the amount of food you get for less than $10.

9) Go to Ocean Beach for an outdoor picnic and wish your loved ones “Gung Hey Fat Choy”!
