Delicious Dim Sum

Just because you’re busy, doesn’t mean you can’t brunch!

On a recent Saturday, I was running errands and was short on time so a Bay Area Brunch on the go was in order. For only a bit of cash and a short wait, you can have delicious dim sum from where else? Delicious Dim Sum.

This visit I got an order of har gow (3 pieces), a couple of shrimp and chive dumplings, a bread bun with chicken and chives in the middle, a BBQ pork bun, and a piece of taro cake. All for only $4! The har gow are my favorite item here as they are packed with shrimp but I love most of their dumplings (the exception being the pan fried chive ones as they are pretty greasy). I liked the chicken bun but the BBQ pork bun was a bit too sweet for me and I wished there were more fillings in both. The taro cake was a bit greasy but it usually is so it was satisfying. They also have other typical dim sum items like rice noodles, sticky rice, and shumai.

The place is a total dive with only one table so I always grab my grub to go. I went to nearby Portsmouth Square and watched dozens of Chinese men engrossed in their respective mahjong games and shooed away pesky pigeons who were after my dim sum.

(Who could blame them?)
